BMS Institute of Technology and Management

BMS Institute of Technology and Management was started in the year 2002 – 2003 with three Engineering Departments viz., Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. In due course of operation four more programmes viz., TCE, EEE, ISE, Civil and later in 2019, a new branch AI&ML marked its presence. Currently there are Four PG programmes namely, M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, M.Tech in Cyber Security, Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA). There are 11 VTU recognised research centres and more than 45 research scholars are working in diverse research areas.

The Institute is striding in the progressive path and has a team of well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty. Thirty one faculty members are with doctoral degree and around forty are pursuing. The Institute continues to recruit faculty members with high experience in academia, industry and research. The Institute offers contemporary and competitive teaching/learning methods. The Institute follows learner centric methods in academics for effective learning by students. The Institute has well equipped laboratories for course work, teaching and student projects. There are around 800 computers connected in the network with all necessary licensed software. The Institute is helping the students in getting exposure to cutting edge technologies by means of organizing industrial visits and technical talks from domain experts of reputed industry/research organizations. The students are encouraged to involve themselves in creative, technical and research activities. Students have been performing well in the university examination.

BMSIT&M follows Outcome Based Education (OBE) with the following learner centric methods: Cooperative learning, collaborative learning and other OBE approaches. Students are also exposed to Project Based Learning where the learning is made more effective through innovative/interdisciplinary projects. Learning is also happening through Industry attached labs.
